Kerri T. Simpson is a native of Morgantown, West Virginia. Dr. Simpson completed her BS in biology at Boston University and continued her educational career by completing her dental hygiene degree from West Virginia University in 2013, graduating Magna Cum Laude and valedictorian. She then entered dental school at West Virginia University, where she graduated in 2017 and entered the Master of Science program in Periodontics at West Virginia University, under the direction of Dr. Gian Pietro Schincaglia. During her 4 years of dental school, Dr. Simpson was class president, legislative liaison for her ASDA chapter, and helped start the ‘mentorship program’ at the dental school, among numerous other activities. One of her most cherished achievements during this time was winning first place at the ADA SCADA research competition for her research on silver diamine fluoride, which was the first time for WVU. Dr. Simpson graduated this past May with her masters in periodontics, and as the first resident to graduate from this program. During her time in the program, she was published three times in clinical journals.
Dr. Simpson is a strong proponent of organized dentistry, as she is the New Dentist representative for the West Virginia Dental Association, on the board of governors for the WVU Alumni Association, and was elected as the ADA delegate for West Virginia (the first female in West Virginia history). She is also a member of the ADA, AAP, AAO, WVDA, Mon Valley Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the American College of Dentists. She currently lives in Morgantown, WV with her wonderful husband, Matt, and practices with MMS Dental Implants and Periodontics in Bridgeport and Morgantown, WV.
